Birthday craft for Sis/ Flat Iron Holder Tutorial!

Lndz's 23rd birthday... err I think. . . Is upon us. For her gift I did something homemade and something I can't make! hehe.

(Don't worry I am posting this after her birthday so this will not be a spoiler!)

I got her a Chi (something she's wanted for a long time) and then made her a Flat Iron Carrier.

Here is the the tutorial and here is the finished product!

Happy Birthday Sis!

Two Handed Pot Holder Craft

Mr. and I set to work today! (As you know I can finish no project without him!)

We actually did two projects today but I will reveal one now... the other we finished but I will reveal another day! (I know the suspense!)

We made Two Handed Pot Holders! From this awesome tutorial. It was easy (took us about 1.5 hours to make the two, but we were making other stuff too) and straightforward.

Decorative flowers

Again from this same site super cute idea.

Embellishments that take two seconds and some scrap fabric and a glue gun to make!

Decorative Onsie with Bootie Ruffles!

One reason I love blogging is all the ideas that I get from other blogs. Here is one example.
I saw this super cute idea on a precious baby crafting blog. and I was inspired.

I used this tutorial on an amazing blog that I frequently read, to create the look I wanted for baby Bryant. Well we all know by now Mr. is the one who really does the sewing but anyway!

This is from the back of the onsie. So Baby Bryant's cute lil rearend will be all fluffy with ruffles.

and a close up!!

I think the idea is super cute. Even though I wouldn't say this onsie turned out perfect, I think it was a decent first attempt.

By the way you can use the linked tutorial to add ruffles to just about anything! Some thoughts I had were pillows, shirts, and curtains. I am excited to try more. If you guys try any please let me know!!

Happy Saturday and thanks for reading.

Decorative Onsie for Baby Bryant

This is not an original idea (is there anything that hasn't been done, and blogged about?) but I saw it in a boutique and thought I can do that. Those thoughts come often and never come to fruition accept in this case!

A couple in my PA class is expecting (actually two couples are so there may be more of these in the making). This craft is for Baby Bryant.

All you need:

white onsie (mine was 0-3 months)
scrap of material
sewing machine and coordinating thread/ or fabric glue

It is super easy.

I freehand drew the tie on to the back of the fabric. Cut it out and pinned it on temporarilty.

shown here before I straight pinned it at the top and bottom.

Then I/We (the machine broke and I had to call in reinforcements) sewed it on using a zig zag stich. I am a little ashamed to say Mr. is actually the sewer in our house... I just get the projects ready. I am his sou-sewer! :( (I actually didn't realize he was so good at it until last night) He is sewing all my projects from now on!

When I whimsically asked him if we would do this for our kids, he quickly replied no! He said it was too much work.... Goodness!

I'm attempting to make Baby Bryant two more... watch for em.

Pillow Making

This weekend My sis and Bro-n-law came to visit. The boys took the opportunity to catch up and have manly bonding (aka veg out in front of the game system). We ladies shopped, pedicured, ate, and ... crafted! I had some pillows I wanted to recover and a rose pillow I wanted to create.

Here is the first one we made. I love this pattern.

This is Mr. helping me fix the sewing machine.

Working on the rose pillow.

And the finished product

Special thanks to Lndz, Evan, and Mr.
Message or comment if you want tips or a how to on how to make the rose pillow!! I am simply too tired to write it out at the moment.

Christmas Craft.

I found this craft online at Martha Stewart.com. When I found out a needed on the few presents for extended family I kicked into gear. No sew bag. All you need is fabric, iron on vinyl, duct tape, stapping, and a stapler. Super easy to make!
Please excuse the pj's I have been too busy crafting to get dressed this morning!
